Talensi Constituency Women’s Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Jamila Bazemniyin Dokorog Abu, has declared her intention to contest for the position of Constituency Chairperson, describing the move as a call to greater service and responsibility.
In a declaration posted on her Facebook wall, Jamila said her years as Women’s Organizer have equipped her with the experience, relationships, and grassroots understanding needed to lead the constituency effectively.
She noted that the constituency stands at a critical moment that demands strong leadership, unity of purpose, and collective action, and expressed confidence that together with members, a stronger and more organised constituency can be built.
“Serving you as Women’s Organizer has been an honor and a privilege. Through this role, I have gained invaluable experience, strengthened relationships across our grassroots structures, and listened closely to the aspirations, concerns, and hopes of our members,” she said.
Among her pledges, Jamila committed to promoting unity, inclusivity, and mutual respect among members, strengthening grassroots mobilisation, encouraging economic empowerment for youth and women, and enhancing transparency and accountability in leadership.
“Leadership, to me, is not about position but about service, dedication, and collective progress. I am committed to working hand in hand with every member of this constituency to build a future we can all be proud of,” she said.
She called on members to support, pray for, and endorse her as she embarks on the contest, urging the constituency to move forward with unity, strength, and determination.
