The youth wing of the New Patriotic Party in the Upper East Region has successfully held a regional conference and capacity building session for members of its students’ wing, Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON).

The TESCON Regional Conference brought together hundreds of students from all 16 tertiary institutions in the upper east region for the one-day event in Bolgatanga.
As the party gears up for the 2024 general elections with a desire to ‘break the 8’, Salahudeen Musah, Upper East Regional Youth Organizer of the party said the conference is purposed to reorient, re-energize and build the capacity of the youth of the party to lead the charge in securing victory for the NPP in the next election.
Speaker after speaker at the conference charged the youth to own the party and take responsibility for its victory in 2024.
National Youth Organizer Salam Mustapha said the youth stand to gain better through jobs, scholarships and other opportunities as long as the party continues to stay in power.
“If we go into opposition, those that will suffer will be myself, my commanders here and all of us the young people who are here. We are now looking for opportunities like jobs, scholarships and others. If the party goes into opposition, how are we going to achieve these? I believe that all of us here have the collective interest in ensuring that the New Patriotic Party remains in government,” Salam Mustapha told the charged youth.
The conference was attended by notable members of the NPP including Upper East Regional Minister Stephen Yakubu, Regional Chairman Anthony Namoo, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency Alhaji Ibrahim Bashiru, Deputy General Secretary Haruna Mohammed, Deputy Information Officer Fati Abubakar, Presidential Staffer Dennis Miracle, Parliamentary Aspirants, Municipal and District Chief Executives amongst others.
