Ma la hu by rapper Nambawan has won the Most Popular Song of the Year at the just ended Happy Man Bitters Upper East Music Awards held on Friday, January 5, 2024.
The soul piercing song became an instant hit after its release in August last year and has been on the lips of music lovers in the region.
It was nominated in the Happy Man Bitters Most Popular Song of the year category along with 3 other songs, but it triumphed, picking up the second topmost award of the night.
It also won Afrobeats/Afro pop Song of the Year, with Nambawan winning Songwriter of the Year for its composure.
Nambawan, however, lost out the Artistes of the Year award to the producer of Ma la hu Fasetwo who bagged two other awards including the Male Vocalist of the Year and Producer of the Year awards.
The HMB Most Popular Song of the Year award comes with a cash prize of GH¢5,000 and a sponsorship for a music video.
