UPPER EAST REGIONAL MINISTER, STEPHEN YAKUBU.

Stephen Yakubu, the Upper East Regional Minister, has indicated that supporting Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the best thing to do since he has over the years served the New Patriotic Party (NPP) diligently.

Speaking at an event to officially inaugurate a group known as the Rapid Response Unit for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia (RRU4DMB) over the weekend in Bolgatanga, the Regional Minister says the Vice President has duly served the party and the country and needs a bigger platform like the office of president to do more for the country.

Mr. Yakubu is therefore urging members of the group to be vigorous in their campaign activities to ensure victory for Dr. Bawumia in the party’s primaries and ultimately, in the General Elections.

He further urges them to desist from insulting others or engaging in any form of violence since that will not be in the best interest of the party.

The RRU4DMB has been established in the Upper East Region with the hope of canvassing grassroots support for Dr. Bawumia to win the flagbearer position of the NPP and hopefully the 2024 general elections.

According to the group, the Vice President remains the NPP’s best bet for electoral victory in 2024.

Delivering his inaugural address, Mr. Yakubu, says he believes the Vice President deserves to lead, adding the NPP from all indications will remain in government in 2025.

“This is a man who has served this party diligently; this is a man who has collaborated with his boss to give us two terms. This is a man who believes that it is possible. He has served this party and all of us. So, if you are supporting such a person, I think it is good to support such a person. It is just the way you should do it, it is just the way you are get to talk to people. It is just the way we are going to bring everybody on board to make sure we win 2024.

I will say that as you go out there, work diligently, work with the structures and any other unit that you meet, and let all of us work together and bring victory to our brother because I believe that we will be in government in 2025.” Mr. Yakubu detailed.
