Winner of the 2023 edition of TV3 Ghana’s Strongest, Godfred Akolbila has urged young people in the Upper East Region to consider venturing into bodybuilding.
According to him, bodybuilding is a sporting activity and can be rewarding if taken seriously.
He noted that most people in that part of the country do not consider it as such but a thuggish activity and therefore, do not show interest in pursuing careers in bodybuilding.
While dispelling the misconception about such fitness exercise, Godfred Akolbila encouraged particularly the youth to consider taking it up as a career.
“This part of the country, we don’t recognize body building as a sport. I don’t know why? It’s a sport. So people should endeavour to venture into it”.
He said this while detailing his journey to becoming the most strongest man in the entire country.
Godfred Akolbila made 6 unsuccessful attempts for the title since 2016 before emerging victorious in this year’s edition of the fierce competition.
He told Dreamz FM’s Compact Sports that his desire to earn the Upper East Region the bragging right of being home to the title winner motivated him to relentless pursue the ultimate even in the face of failures and numerous challenges.
