Former District Chief Executive for Bongo, Peter Ayinbisa Ayamga has called on United Brothers Association, a pressure group in the district to apologize for causing pain and embarrassment to Dr William Gudu, a medical Superintendent of the District Hospital.

According to him, the group’s demand for the transfer of Dr Gudu from the Bongo District Hospital is uncalled-for and disheartening.

“I ask of them to apologize to doctor because whoever is behind them and doing this is not serving anybody any good. They’re serving their personal selfish interest and I believe that’s not the way to go.

They should apologize to doctor because they have hurt the man so much. This is not the way to pay him back. If you have nothing for Dr. Gudu, this is not the way we should pay him back”.

The group presented a petition to the District Chief Executive of the District, Rita Atanga demanding the immediate transfer of the Medical Superintendent of the Facility.

In their petition titled ‘poor health care delivery in Bongo District’, they accused Dr. Gudu and the hospital storekeeper of misconduct, mismanagement and dereliction of duty, which they say, have resulted in poor healthcare services at the hospital.

But speaking on State of Our Nation, Mr Ayinbisa recounted the immense contribution of the Medical Superintendent in improving health care delivery in the District and the Region as a whole.

“The market women who were sitting and doing their own thing, you have misled them into demonstrating against a very harmless person. Somebody who has sacrificed, dedicated his time, his energy. Look, Dr. Gudu, sometimes, sleeps around 2 am, 3 am. Then by 6,7 am, he is at the hospital again,” he said.

Mr. Ayinibisa dismissed the group’s claim that Dr. Gudu is harassing medical doctors posted to work in the District Hospital out of the facility.

He described the allegation as baseless and only intended to smear the image of the Medical Superintendent.

The former District Chief Executive for the area asked members of the United Brothers Association and all their associates, who subscribed to the content and demands of the petition to channel their energy to improving the development of Bongo rather resorting maligning innocent people.
