Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has touted his contributions to the fortunes of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the development of Ghana.
Addressing his loyalists after filing his nominations for the flagbearer contest at the party’s national headquarters, Dr. Bawumia recounted that he has spent 22 years of his life, toiling for the NPP and Ghana.
He emphasized that he made immense sacrifices and defended the party during that period and never, for once, deserted it.
He added that he has built a solid track record of performance as Vice President, making him the best candidate for the NPP and the best leader for the country.
“Dear friends, over the last 22 years, I have worked hard with you for the NPP and for Ghana from during the Kufuor era as Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, through our years in opposition and now in government,” he told his followers.
He continued, “During this period, I have sacrificed for the party, I have defended the party in good times and in challenging times, I have never wavered nor slacked. Never! and I have built a solid track record of performance as Vice President and unflinching loyalty to our party and government through rain or shine”.
He is, therefore, appealing to members of his party and the entire Ghanaian populace to support his bid as said he has vision to transform the country into modern state.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is among a host of others seeking to succeed President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as NPP flagbearer.
He has had quite a number of the party’s big guns declaring support for him and this, some say puts him ahead of his contenders.
