ALHAJI BASHIRU IBRAHIM ADDRESSES PARTY'S SUPPORTERS AFTER FILING HIS NOMINATION

Parliamentary candidate aspirant of the New Patriotic Party for Tempane, Alhaji Bashiru Ibrahim has pledged to address the developmental needs of the area if he is made Member of Parliament for the constituency.

Alhaji Bashiru, who is the Deputy CEO in charge of operations at the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), said he has over the years contributed immensely to improving the living conditions of the Tempane people and will do more if he gets the opportunity to represent them in Parliament.

“If I am given the opportunity to become the MP for Tempane, what I want to assure my people is that I will adequately and professionally represent them in the Parliament of Ghana and lobby for developmental projects including hospital roads, schools, healthcare, education, agriculture and every single activity that is required to make life very comfortable in society,” he stated.

“If you come to Tempane today and you look at the developmental agenda that has been pursued by myself, I am fulfilled, and I believe strongly that my footprints are clearly on wall for the people to see.

I am the Deputy CEO for YEA and say it with passion and with humility that I have provided the young people of this constituency with the jobs”.

He bemoaned the lack of development in the area, accusing leadership of neglecting the people. According to him, leadership of the constituency has, for long, failed to pay attention to the needs of residents, leaving them in deplorable conditions.

“Today, if you look at the constituency, where my good friend and brother, lawyer Kpemka has brought it to, I think we have moved backward. Rather than going forward, we have put ourselves in a reverse gear”.

He, therefore, urged the people to elect him as parliamentary candidate in the NPP’s primary and ultimately, as Member of Parliament as he is posed to tackle their challenges head-on and better their lives.

Alhaji Bashiru made this appeal after successfully filing his nomination on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 to contest the NPP’s parliamentary primary in the constituency.

The Tempane seat is one of the 3 seats in the Upper East Region the NPP lost to its opponent, the National Democratic Congress in the 2020 Elections.

The party is, however, hopeful of recapturing it in next year’s polls.

Addressing party supporters after going through the filing process, Alhaji Bashiru said the party requires a candidate, who has a good track record in the area and understands the needs of the people, to recapture the seat and better their lives.
