Former Upper East Regional Minister, Tangoba Abayage, has said Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia remains the best bet for the governing New Patriotic Party,(NPP).
According to her, the Vice President has strong support across board hence, will aid the NPP realise its quest to ‘Break the 8’.
The one-time ambassador is convinced that electing the vice president is good for the party on all fronts including the economy, and principles among others.
Speaking at the launch of the Rapid Response Unit for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia (RRU4DMB), Ms. Abayage said although party members across the 16 regions have resolved to elect Dr. Bawumia as flagbearer, his supporters should not relent in canvassing support for him.
She, therefore, appealed to members of the RRU4DMB and members of the party to ensure that they embark on massive a campaign for Dr. Bawumia.
Miss. Abayage insisted that no one comes close to the personality of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the NPP race.
“Out of a lot, he is the primus inter pares. No one comes closer but that doesn’t mean that we should go and sleep. It only gives us a lot of work because we need to give reasons why he is the primus inter pares. We have to go out and tell people why he is the best among the rest.
From the north to the south, from the west to the east, all 16 regions agree that our best bet for 2024 is none other than Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. On the economy, on the geographical dimensions of this country, on intellect, on principles, whichever angle you want to take this campaign, it is going to be good for us.” She said with utmost optimism
