John Paul Danka, a member of the Upper East Regional Communication Team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been adjudged the Grassroots Political Icon in Northern Ghana by the National Youth Authority (NYA).
Paul Danka received the honour today at the second edition of the NYA’s Northern Youth and Mentors Achievers Awards for excelling in the political field and contributing greatly to the development of the people.
As part of the honour, he will be inducted into the Northern Sector Youth and Mentors Hall of Fame in a year time for the ensuing year.
The Northern Youth and Mentors Achievers Awards was instituted by the NYA to celebrate people, both young and old, making immense contribution to the socio-economic, cultural and political development of their people.
This year’s awards event took place on August 5, at Bagabaga College of Education in Northern Region and had many dignitaries including Regional Ministers, MMDCEs, MPs, traditional leaders, head of institutions among others in attendance.
Paul Danka has served in various positions in the NDC and in government.
He was appointed an Assembly Member for the Talensi District under the NDC’s administration and has also served as a regional administrator of the party.
He is currently one of the lead communicators for the main opposition party in the Upper East Region.
