President John Dramani Mahama has nominated Diana Asoketarige Ayamga as District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Bongo District Assembly, according to an official communication from the Office of the President.
The nomination, dated April 7, 2026, was signed by Callistus Mahama and issued in accordance with Article 243 of the 1992 Constitution and the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), as amended.
The letter indicated that the appointment is intended to fill an existing vacancy and remains subject to approval by the Bongo District Assembly.
The nomination forms part of ongoing efforts by the government to strengthen local governance structures through the appointment of district-level executives across the country after the sudden demise of former DCE Joseph Abaa Akaseke.
