National Youth Organizer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha has charged the youth wing of the party to strive hard to ensure that it remains in power.
Speaking at a regional youth conference and capacity building in the Upper East Region, Salam Mustapha said the party’s continuous stay in power will provide opportunities for the youth to realize their dreams and better their lives.
He noted that most of them are job-hunting and looking forward to scholarship opportunities to improve upon themselves.
These opportunities, he stated, hinge on the NPP’s election victory thus, they must toil to retain the party in office in the next polls.
“We are now looking for jobs, we are now looking for scholarships. We are now looking for all the opportunities we can find. If the party goes into opposition, how are we going to achieve it? That’s why I believe that all of us have the collective interest in ensuring that the New Patriotic Party remains in government,” he said.
He warned that they will miss all these chances and suffer greatly should the NPP lose power in 2024.
“If we go into opposition, those who are going to suffer the most are myself, my commanders and all of us young people”.
Salam Mustapha made these remarks while emphasising the importance of sacrificing for the party.
He said while the NPP provides avenues to empower its members especially youngsters, it takes dedication and sacrifice to the party’s cause to be duly recognised.
The NPP has been in government since 2016 and is seeking to make history by clinching a third term in office.
This ambition, political watchers, however, say, is unlikely to be realized.
