Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Scheme (NSS), Gifty Oware-Aboagye has faulted the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) for failing to retain John Boadu as its General Secretary at the just ended National Delegates’ Conference.

According to her, the party failed its former chief scribe, who, she said, has, for years, served it diligently and made immeasurable sacrifices for its good.

Madam Oware-Aboagye argued that Mr. Boadu genuinely love the party and has been committed in serving it thus, should have been rewarded with another tenure in office.

While extolling and declaring her loyalty to him, she stated, “Kwame, time working together since KNUST was fun. You have your flaws as human but your genuine love for party work is unquestionable. You stood for the party and by the party. You served well and it’s not for any reason we did this together. I will lead your agenda anytime, every time. You made me proud even at points of destruction, you held back to throw any dirt on your party. You are a rare politician. One that believes cleanliness is next to godliness”.

She continued, “John! Today more than ever I am a soldier on prostrate saluting you a legend. JB, Ghana is proud of you and the breed you come from. Sorry we failed you. Heavens were silent but for a reason. Heaven always has a plan.

Wofa, loyalty over life. God bless the NPP and all the newly elected Executives, please lead us to retaining and maintaining power”.

John Boadu lost the General Secretary position of the governing party in Saturday’s Delegates Conference to Justin Frimpong Kodua.

Mr. Frimpong Kodua polled 2,857 votes to defeat Mr. Boadu who obtained 2,524 votes. Prior to the conference, the now former General Secretary was widely tipped to win the contest as many bigwigs of the party openly declared their support for him.

But the legal practitioner, who was considered an underdog going into the contest, caused a major upset, ousting Mr. Boadu and leaving many including the Chairman of the Election Committee of the party in shock.

But Madam Oware-Aboagye believes this was undesirable situation and does not portend well for the Elephant Party.
